Project “Creative Community Space in Kuliai”

Project promoter: Plungė district Kuliai town community “Alantas”.
Project partners: Plungė district Kuliai Culture Center, VŠĮ „Domus alba“, VŠĮ „Taško“
teatras, VŠĮ „Kintai Arts“, M. K. Čiurlionio namai, Association „Mano miestas Klaipėda“, MB
Classics – Opera Opus, Company B. Valiente, Plungė district municipal administration, VŠĮ
„Klaipėdos jaunimo teatras“, Plungė district Kuliai school.

Project was implemented with funding of Republic of Lithuania and European Economic
Area’s financial mechanisms program “Kultūra”, which totals to 968.4 thousand euro.

Goal – improve entrepreneurial skills of community members by strengthening local
cultural-historical identity. Main mission – restore building of historical significance, adapt its use
for cultural, art and educational activities, create new local products and services.

Project activities ran for two and half years, from September of 2021 to March of 2024. In
them participated eleven project partners from Lithuania and Norway.
Achieved results:
* Culturally-significant building of 18th century was restored and opened for new
activities.
* A new brand “Kultūros virenė“ was created with marketing strategy and visual
identity.

*10 cultural enterpreneurship sessions and 4 enterpreneurship events took place in the
region.
* Created new art pieces: project partners created 12 theatre plays, which in Kuliai
town were performed at least 35 times. To note a few: “Miškelis“, “Žemaitėje“ (“Klaipėdos
jaunimo teatras”), “Prestižinė profesija“, “Tylos pėdsakai“, “Toli iš arti“ (“Taško teatras”),
“Išpažintis” (“Domus alba”), “Paslaptingoji Peer Gynt kelionė“ (“M. K. Čiurlionio namai”).
* New educational services in restored building: informal cultural education for
youths, historical tours of area of Kuliai, theatrical education and market.
